13th Aftermarket Conference was Held
The 13th Aftermarket Conference, organized by the Automotive Aftermarket Products and Services Association (OSS) in cooperation with the Association of Automotive Aftermarket Products and Services (OSS), the Association of Vehicle Supply Manufacturers (TAYSAD) and the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OIB), was held on 25 May 2023.
In the event, which hosted a giant meeting on a global scale, striking findings and predictions regarding the sector were discussed. At the conference, which was held with the theme of "The Impact of Electrification on the Aftermarket", manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and independent services, as well as global stakeholders and leading names of the industry shared their tips and tricks to prepare for the electric car era.
OSS President Ziya Ozalp, one of the opening speakers of the conference, said: "As aftermarket manufacturers and distributors, we have managed to remain positive despite all the challenging conditions.
After the structural change in the automotive industry, I can say that we have continued the upward trend of the last two years this year, despite all the uncertainties in the global market and the realities brought by the pandemic that no one could have foreseen." OIB President Baran Celik also gave the following information at the opening ceremony: "Our exports increased by 11 percent in the first 4 months and reached 11.3 billion dollars in total. We will complete this year with exports close to 35 billion dollars, again reaching the highest export value of our Republic."
After-sales market was discussed
Speakers at the 13th Aftermarket Conference included Mathieu Bernard, Roland Berger Automotive Aftermarket Director; Ahmet Aslanbas, Ford Otosan Supply Chain Leader; and Erdem Sahinkaya, Sampa Automotive Intellectual, Industrial Rights and Project Manager, Patent Trademark Attorney. In the afternoon part of the conference, a panel titled "The Turkish Aftersales Market with All the Links of the Chain" was organized. The panel was moderated by Emirhan Silahtaroglu, Board Member of Silkar Endas Otomotiv, and included evaluations by Kemal Gorgunel, Board Member of SIO Otomotiv, Mehmet Karakoc, CEO of Bakirci Otomotiv, Okay Merih, General Manager of OM Otomotiv, and Ali Ozcete, Vice Chairman of the Board of Ozcete Otomotiv.
